Surgery / Moving

And the hits just keep on coming...

I've been suffering from rib pain on the right side since I was about 36weeks pregnant. EVERYONE told me it was just the baby and to ignore it as best I could. So I did. Then I had the baby and I would still get the pain from time to time and yet still everyone said it wasn't a big deal.

Three weeks ago I was doubled over in pain NOTHING helped I even took a Vicodin that I still had after the C-Section (and I NEVER take pain meds). And that didn't help too much. I went to the chiropractor and that did seem to help with the pain but I had to go four times in 3 days.

Then this past Saturday after spending 3hrs in a car AND 1.5hrs at a Graduation Ceremony (the speaker was pretty funny though) the pain came back again just as bad as before. This time I went ahead and went to the ER.

From 8pm-1am I basically sat and waited... it was TERRIBLE! But they drew blood and my liver enzymes (lipaze?) was over 30,000 while normal is around 100. At this point I was offered morphine for pain, and I turned it down for the first of MANY times over the next few days. I can't believe how often they offered me narcotics. I can see why some people get addicted geez!

Anyway I was admitted and an  ultra-sound was done I had "multiple" gall stones. So Josh, Cameron, and I were moved upstairs. Josh slept on a hard chair (poor guy) and Cam was in bed with me :)

Sunday morning my level was down to 5,000 and we were VERY hopeful to have Surgery Monday morning so I could go home by Monday night.

Did I mention that I wasn't allowed to eat solid food from my last meal Saturday at 12pm until Monday evening?

Anyway Sunday friends were AWESOME and brought Josh food :) Kept us all company while we sat around in the hospital. I have the BEST FRIENDS OF ALL TIME!!!

Monday came and 5:30am I had blood drawn again... I was at 100!!! And my surgery was scheduled for 10am, Pastor Joel came to pray with us before surgery and my Dad sat with Josh with friends bringing him lunch again. (I did mention best friends ever right?) I was wheeled up to the room, where I still continued to deny pain meds, the nurses thought I was pretty awesome and kept saying how calm I was and the baby. They were shocked that I wasn't taking all the pain meds possible. I will say that surgery wasn't really all that bad but the gas pain in my shoulder... I thought I was dying!!! Oh my goodness, it was only a step down from labour guys. *shudders* I never was to go through that again.

Monday I was able to come home and I was told not to lift my bay boy :( So Josh stayed home from work Tuesday as well to take care of me/Cam. I did take some ibuprofen but I tried to do as little as possible.

My friend Sharon came on Wednesday followed by my mother on Thursday to take care of me and help with the baby. Thursday at 10:30am I was told we were going to close on the house THAT DAY! So Josh had to leave 30min early from work and we hobbled down to the title office to sign all the papers. We were not supposed to get the keys until the following day when we got the deed but they allowed us to get the keys early. I personally think they felt bad for me -lol-

Now Friday my Mother (who I can NOT thank enough!) cleaned our new place ALL DAY so it would be ready for us to move as I am not able to bend/pack/move :-/ While my dad helped me with the baby. Then my mom surprised me by coming over to the apartment and we moved my kitchen and bathroom.

Saturday Dave, Mark, and Joel showed up at the house and moved EVERYTHING ELSE!!! I felt completely worthless watching everything being moved and not being able to help out but I am SOOOO thankful for our friends!

We treated them to lunch, which my dad ended up paying for (talk about a blessing). And tonight we finished cleaning the old apartment. We will NEVER have to go back there again!! Goodbye Montclair Ave! Goodbye mold in every bedroom!

Hello House! Yeah.... we own a house... it will sink in eventually... right now I'm just trying to adjust to this CRAZY CRAZY week!

My new kitchen :) It looks AMAZING now with everything put away.

Our Bedroom,  now has a crib it in and all the clothing as been put away.

Our office/library/baby room/game room it works really well for us.

The living room, yes that is our mattress - tradition is to sleep in the living room the first night in a new place. And J and I have always loved having 'slumber parties' in our living room :) It's fun to sleep in a different room once in a while. I recommend it to everyone!

Just one of the upstairs bedrooms.

We also have a full basement that is half finished, laundry room, 2 bathrooms, another upstairs bedroom and MANY closets. We LOVE LOVE LOVE our new house!

I do hope now that things are semi-normal and I can keep up with this blog a little better :)
